"Dig In"

"Dig In" is a piece about hard work and perseverance through tough obstacles.

The piece has been done in a few different ways, with the rubble pile acting as a guide for further interpretation.  The pile of stone, to represent a place's geological and industrial history, or a pile of money as a metaphor for waste and abundance.

This project was done in collaboration with Lead artists Robin Lasser and Adrienne Pao.  Other team members include Sasha Vermel, and James Stone.  The Project was installed at the Montalvo Art Center in Saratoga, California through 2015.

"Break Time"  is  piece about never giving up, despite the obstacles or challenges we are faced with. 

The addition of the nails around the broken hammer are a metaphor for persevering through a number of obstacles.  No matter what life throws at us, we must continue...

"Mom and Dad"

In this piece, the swings are a personification of the parental unit and childhood.  The loss of one parent, and the fracturing of the other through that loss. Even when it seems like all is lost, we must stay strong for our children.  We must "Keep Swinging."

"Keep Swinging" is a piece about overcoming hardship. Things aren't always easy, and we must face every obstacle with grit and dedication.

"Precious" is a piece about celebration and the elevation of life's challenges to make us stronger.  The precious marble and bronze materials used to represent a broken hammer is a metaphor for valuing life's hardships as lessons which help us grow.
